My daughter and I are book huge fans of the Duck & Goose series of children’s books by Tad Hills. She and I fell in love with the characters two summers ago during our toddler summer reading program. The most recent title in the series is the fabulous Duck & Goose Go to the Beach.
Recommended for readers between 3 and 7 years old, Duck & Goose Go to the Beach follows Duck and Goose on an adventure to the beach. At first, Goose does not see the point of leaving the meadow. When Duck heads out on a hike and stumbles across the beach, Goose quickly changes his tune. Your young reader will love following the beloved Duck and Goose on an adventure to the beach and back.
Like the other Duck & Goose books, the language in Duck & Goose Go to the Beach is simple yet engaging. My daughter loves hearing the story read aloud to her. She has also started reading the book aloud to me, making up her own story by looking at the pictures.
My favorite part of Duck & Goose Go to the Beach, as with all the Duck & Goose books, is the illustration style. The pictures throughout the book are fairly simple but are filled with bright colors and interesting details. Toddlers and other young readers will enjoy looking at the illustrations as much as hearing the story read out loud.
Final Verdict: Duck & Goose Go to the Beach by Tad Hills is another win for the Duck & Goose series. Recommended for readers aged 3 through 7, the story tells the tale of Duck and Goose setting out on an adventure to the beach. The language is simple but engaging for even the younger readers. And the illustrations are bright, colorful, and absolutely adorable. My daughter and I give Duck & Goose Go to the Beach four enthusiastic thumbs up!
